IMPERViTe HS30 5L
IMPERViTe® HS30 is a water-based Silane/Siloxane system that prevents any water from entering the pores of building material, mineral substrates such as Concrete, bricks, Plastered surfaces or Natural Sandstone facades. This therefore prevents any soiling build-up, moss, algae or mildew on the surface of the raw building product.
Additional Product Data
IMPERViTe® HS30 is a water-based Silane/Siloxane system that prevents any water from entering the pores of building material, mineral substrates such as Concrete, bricks, Plastered surfaces or Natural Sand Stone facades. This therefore prevents any soiling build-up, moss, algae or mildew on the surface of the raw building product.
IMPERViTe® is a hydrophobic impregnation system where the Silane/Siloxanes react with the silica matrix of the building product, resulting in a silicon resin reaction within the matrix, making the surface a hydrophobic, yet vapour-permeable surface. Unlike other waterproof coatings, IMPERViTe® does not alter the appearance of the surface to which it is applied.
IMPERViTe® contains no VOC’s and is totally compliant with green building requirements.
IMPERViTe® should not be applied if rain is imminent. IMPERViTe® should not be applied if the ambient temperature is over 28° C.
IMPERViTe® can be applied by sponge roller or low-pressure spray. Roll the IMPERViTe® onto the wall rapidly, covering the surface completely, ensuring that any pitted or cracked sections are properly treated. Important: Continue to apply product, wet on wet until saturation is obtained. In order to obtain the ideal impervious characteristics, a usage rate of 400g per m² for smooth surfaces and up to 1000g per m² is required for effective saturation.
IMPERViTe® H30 emulsion is susceptible to hydrolysis which occurs after application to the substrate, releasing alcohol and then is converted into a silicone resin water repellent.
IMPERViTe® reduces the capillary absorption, but does not clog the pores or capillaries, allowing the building to “breathe”. It has good depth of penetration, develops water repellancy rapidly, is highly durable, has effective beading effect, tack-free drying, provides good adhesion for paints, environmentally compatible and stable in storage.
IMPERViTe® is pre-mixed and ready to use.
When renovating old surfaces, all contamination must be removed by the appropriate means (high-pressure washer/brush/grinding) to restore them to their original condition. Only once this process is complete can the surfaces be treated with IMPERViTe®. Cracks should be filled in such a way that they are less visible, and will not allow water ingress.
IMPERViTe® penetrates into the matrix of the surface, and the surface must therefore be porous to enable this to happen.
Stored in a cool dry store, unopened IMPERViTe® will last for 12 months. Please check the use-by date on the packaging.
Safety goggles and gloves should be worn to protect the eyes and hands from exposure. In the event of eye contamination, the eyes must immediately be washed out with copious amounts of clean water, and medical assistance sought.
It is recommended that overalls be worn to minimise sthe oiling of clothing.
IMPERViTe® has limited effect on products that do not have silica as a base. Materials that have a limited silica matrix are products derived from the limestone family, such as Travertine, Quartzite etc. IMPERViTe® is available in 5 and 25Litre containers.
